Two Great Jobs, One New Organization!

After a great deal of research in preparation with our partners, we here at GTECH are thrilled we spread the word about not one but TWO awesome job openings at a brand new Pittsburgh organization.  A snippet from the job descriptions below should provide a few hints as to why we’re so excited (and hope you are too!):

After nearly 2 years of planning, national best practice benchmarking and site visits, and significant outreach, a collaborative effort between six non-profits has given birth to the Pittsburgh Conservation Corps (PCC – a working name).  The PCC, modeled on the Emerald Trail Corps, a program run by the Mount Washington Community Development Corporation for the past five years, will now be brought to scale across the County to:

  • Provide employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment, including limited income and education levels, homelessness, former incarceration, refugees and military veterans while supporting their search for permanent family-sustaining wages through case management and workforce development training; and
  • Serve as a professional and knowledgeable crew to help steward vacant land, public parks, land trust properties, greenways, and planned green infrastructure through such activities as trail construction, habitat restoration, vacant land management, bioswale and green infrastructure maintenance, tree planting, tree care, and vegetable garden construction.
