Ambassadors Get Creative In Clairton

With pens and trace paper in hand, 8 designers, landscape architects and architects descended into Clairton to help our Ambassador cohort make their project ideas come to life. As part of ReClaim Clairton, each Ambassador participates in a design workshop where they a paired with a professional designer who helps them think realistically about what is feasible to accomplish on their site with the manpower and money they have available. This also helps each Ambassador visualize their project and gives them an end product that they can share to build momentum with neighbors and volunteers.

This year, Ambassadors imagined everything from intricate healing gardens to interactive playspaces. Several of their designs are included below and plans are now being developed in preparation for a busy spring implementing projects across Clairton. This process and all of the new and amazing designs wouldn’t be possible without our friends from Tree Pittsburgh, CannonDesign, Grow Pittsburgh, J.Frank StudiosIKM Inc and Rebecca Mizikar, RLA.
