From the Board of Directors

Greetings Grounded Community,

Happy June and thank you to all those who joined us for a spectacular Geared up and Grounded bike ride this last weekend.

With this turn of season – I write to inform you that as of June 1st, 2019, Evaine K. Sing has departed her role at Grounded Strategies. It is always hard to say goodbye to a long-term, valued employee but we do so with a great appreciation of all her contributions as part of the Grounded team for the past seven years, the last two as Executive Director, and we wish her well in her future endeavors. Evaine guided the organization through an important leadership transition after founding CEO Andrew Butcher departed as we celebrated 10 years of impact. Evaine leaves Grounded in excellent financial health helping enable a strong and enduring platform for growth. Grounded’s partnerships are robust – the board’s commitment to our mission is unwavering and we are increasingly focused on where and how to enable our team to maximize their impact.

While the Board commences a search for a new Executive Director to take our team to the next level, we have engaged former Grounded Senior Project Manager Ariam Ford, a neighborhood planner, and community development consultant, to return as our Interim Executive Director. Ariam is already up to speed on all of the initiatives that Grounded is implementing.

All of the Grounded projects are already underway in various Pittsburgh and Allegheny County neighborhoods this summer and we will be hiring a new Executive Director in the near future. In the meantime, the positive outcomes of our work remain a top priority. Should you have any questions and/or concerns about this important time of organizational evolution please don’t hesitate Board Chair Sarah Williams Wilson at board@groundedpgh.org.
