Home : Our Work : Greening Homewood Clusters : Greening Homewood Clusters: Year 3 Greening Homewood Clusters: Year 3 Share this project In Spring 2018 Grounded Strategies was back in Homewood. During our third year of work cooperating with Operation Better Block (OBB) in a Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP), Grounded transformed a vacant lot at the corner of North Lang Avenue and Idlewild Street in Homewood. As part of this metamorphosis, we installed several amenities on site, including several play features (including a balance logs and tire jump) for children, as well as shade sails and benches for adults. In partnership with OBB, we engaged with the Junior Green Corps (JGC) of Homewood for site implementation and maintenance. As a continuation of our commitment to greening vacant land in the Pittsburgh area, we took into account the concerns local residents in the design and implementation of our projects, thereby ensuring continued community participation.
