You bring the team. We bring the tools!

That’s the slogan for the PGH Mobile Toolbox, a first-of-its-kind resource in Allegheny County. Beginning in spring 2017, Grounded Strategies and Neighborhood Allies rolled out this shared community resource to residents, volunteer groups and organizations in need of landscaping tools for neighborhood cleanups, vacant lot beautification, or the implementation and maintenance of food gardens, green infrastructure, trails or general community gathering spaces.

The PGH Mobile Toolbox supports a growing network of residents who are ready to mobilize to transform their communities.

When it comes to community projects, we find that there is often a lot of motivation, resources for events, and partnerships with service providing organizations; there is a shortage of tools available to communities to sustain the caretaking and stewardship of their green projects. To make this resource as available as possible, we will bring the tools to you!

How it Works!

The PGH Mobile is available Fridays and Saturdays starting May 1st through October 31st. To get started, visit lotstolove.org and submit an intake form. Grounded will reach out to you to finalize your PGH Mobile Toolbox reservation and workday logistics. The trailer will arrive on site ready for your workday and will be hauled away when you are done! That’s it!

Who Can Reserve it?

Any resident of Allegheny County over the age of 18 can reserve the PGH Mobile Toolbox. The resource is intended only for community-serving projects, so if you are unclear if your project is eligible, give us a call at 412 361 2099 ext. 7#.
