Grounded GSI Hazelwood: Flowers Avenue

This large site is about 2600 sqft and consists of 3 connected rain gardens that also act as catchment basins for the surplus of water that enters the site. There is a swale that is connected to the catchment basins, the swale is intended to redirect the water into the rain garden area. Along the berm there are different varieties of plants. Not only will this arrangement help redirect water from entering the sewer system, it provides a beautiful habitat for wildlife!

Some of the plants that are on this site include Milkweed, Northern Bayberry, Cone Flower, Wild Lupine, Yarrow, Persimmon, and many more.
