Home : Our Work : Resilience Generation (ReGen) Resources : Spring Hill Civic League Spring Hill Civic League Share this project The Spring Hill Civic League (SHCL) was looking to improve safety conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists along the main corridor of Itin and Walz Streets that connects Spring Hill to the rest of Pittsburgh. The SHCL wanted to explore ideas to fix crumbling sidewalks, manage heavy traffic on narrow streets, and improve the overall quality of the neighborhood. Grounded Strategies worked with the SHCL to develop a report of the current conditions of this corridor. Grounded also researched the best practices for good pedestrian integration along narrow corridors, and used that information to provide a list of possibilities to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists.
