Home : Our Work : ReClaim McKeesport Ambassadors ’15 : Empty to Embellished Empty to Embellished Share this project Rochelle is from the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Homewood, but has called McKeesport home for the last 20 years. She cares deeply about her community and the people in it and aspires to make her community a better place. Rochelle transitioned a vacant, overgrown lot at the entrance of the Myer Park neighborhood into a low-maintenance, embellished oasis. The space complements and enhances the beauty of Myer Park. "I am hoping to make a positive change in our city and to restore it to what I have heard it was like in the past." Rochelle WilliamsReClaim McKeesport Ambassador ABOUT ME. My hometown is Pittsburgh, PA, but for the past 12 years I have lived in the Myers Park (11th Ward) neighborhood of McKeesport. I married my husband, Phil, 20 years ago and have two awesome and bright children, Nayelle (16) and Nason (13). I currently work as an Administrative Assistant for the EARN program. I am a very active member of The Bethlehem Baptist Church. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE OTHERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD? That it is a really great section of McKeesport where people care and take pride in their homes and community. WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST ABOUT BEING INVOLVED IN THE RECLAIM MCKEESPORT PROGRAM? I want to challenge myself and see what’s inside that I’m not used to using. I want to reach higher and work in an area outside of my comfort zone. WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT/ACHIEVEMENT? Hands down, become a mother and watching my children grow into respectful, responsible and caring individuals with great morals. I am truly blessed to have them!
