ReEnergize Pittsburgh Ambassador

“We as a nation overuse our natural resources. We need to use wisely.”

 About Me.

I have lived in Homewood for 42 years. I’m enjoying being retired, because it allows me to visit my grandchildren’s school, catch new movies (I love going to the movies), read more, spend time with friends, and enjoy life and smell the roses. I exercise 3 days a week (which is more than when I worked), and I enjoy my activities at church. I volunteer to take a friend of mine to doctor appointments which keeps her from spending 2 to 3 hours a day taking public transportation. I enjoy traveling to the Islands every chance I get – Aruba is my favorite. I also bowl 3 times a week – you think I would be very good at it but I’m not!

Why do you think it is important to help your neighbors save energy?

My neighborhood has a lot of seniors. If we can help them lower their electric, gas and water bills, it will help them to live a life with fewer money problems and to be more comfortable.

Why did you apply to be a ReEnergize Ambassador?

I enjoy meeting new people, and being able to help.

What does community mean to you?

It’s a place where you spend the most of your time — being at home, shopping, recreation and raising your family. It’s also about feeling safe.
