Marquise Wheeler Email LinkedIn Director of Programming Pronouns – he/him/his Marquise Wheeler is a community development and environmental justice professional, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He currently serves as Director of Programming at Grounded Strategies, where he leads initiatives focused on youth engagement, community revitalization, environmental stewardship, and equitable access to land and green space. Marquise also serves as the Community Connector for Equitable and Just Greater Pittsburgh where he helps lead and support the development of organizational community partnerships and activations. Before joining Grounded Strategies, Marquise served as Director of Program Impact and Partnerships for Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, where he led regional efforts in STEM education, workforce readiness, literacy, and youth development. He has also contributed to civic and community initiatives through organizations including Leadership Pittsburgh, VisitPITTSBURGH’s Emerging Leaders Council, and other Board positions. Marquise has been recognized as Pittsburgh’s Emerging Leader of the Year and a Pittsburgh Business Times 30 Under 30 honoree, amongst other recognitions. He is also the founder of Scenius, a platform designed to help communities share ideas, build collaborative networks, and solve local challenges. Outside of his professional work, Marquise is an avid martial artist, archery enthusiast, cyclist, painter, pianist, hiker, and science enthusiast. He enjoys studying physics, chemistry, psychology, and philosophy, and can often be found training, creating abstract art, exploring Pittsburgh’s parks and museums, or diving into a new book or research topic.
