Julie Fleckenstein

Reclaim McKeesport Ambassador

“I hope that we have a renaissance like the other neighborhoods in the Pittsburgh area. This is such a great place to raise a family.”

ABOUT ME.

My hometown is McKeesport, PA. Currently I  work for the City of McKeesport as a program assistant for the Youth CAST Leadership Network and also as adjunct faculty for the CCAC, teaching Professional and Academic Development and English Composition.

WHAT IDEAS DO YOU HAVE FOR A VACANT LOT IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?

I would like a little oasis for birds and butterflies, with a few benches for people to come and spend some quiet time just watching the birds and butterflies fly and flit around.

WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST ABOUT BEING INVOLVED IN THE RECLAIM MCKEESPORT PROGRAM?

I am very excited about creating a beautiful space in the middle of the city, and I am grateful that so many people want to help me with my space. Also, I get to learn something new and make new friends, which is always a good thing.

LIST THE CAUSES/ORGANIZATIONS THAT YOU SUPPORT.

I support many things through my job at the city. I do my best to educate people about the good work going on in McKeesport. I also support the White Oak no-kill Shelter.
