Alandra Kahl ReClaim McKeesport Ambassador “McKeesport is full of individuals working for their community.” About Me. My hometown is Derry, PA. Currently I teach Engineering Design and Energy and the Environment at Penn State Greater Allegheny, where I am learning to program and build robots with my team. I’m so excited to give my students the opportunity to be involved in their community through the ReClaim project. What idea do you have a vacant land project in your neighborhood? A community gathering space. My hope is to foster collaboration between the campus and the community. What is your favorite part of your community? My favorite spot in Mckeesport is the running trails, because I love to run. In fact, I ran my first half marathon last year and plan to run the Pittsburgh Half Marathon this year! What causes and organizations do you you support? I’m a member of the American Society for Engineering Education, Engineers Without Borders, American Chemical Society and the Society of Women Engineers. Read more about Alandra’s project here!
