Mariska Goswami Practicum Placement / Intern Pronouns: she/her/hers Mariska is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Pittsburgh. Originally from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Pittsburgh for college, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Computational Biology with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. She is passionate about advancing health equity and environmental justice through community-engaged research focused on the social and environmental conditions that influence health. This summer, Mariska is excited to complete her MPH practicum with Grounded Strategies, where she is exploring how Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles can be applied to vacant lot remediation efforts to support community health and safety. Outside of work and school, Mariska’s favorite activities include grocery shopping, searching for the perfect almond croissant, listening to sad music on a long run, or picnicking in Schenley Park with friends.
