Vacant Lot Advocacy

Grounded is committed to supporting systemic change to vacant land maintenance in Pittsburgh and the region. We understand true change must reflect the will and values of everyday residents. Through our Northside Land Lab series, we have connected with various individuals to address their questions and concerns about reclaiming vacant land in their community. In these community meetings, residents have expressed the need for the city to make vacant land maintenance a greater priority. This expression is captured through the petition created with and circulated first by Northside residents. While this petition started on the Northside, it carries the thoughts and sentiments we hear shared more broadly within our larger network throughout the City of Pittsburgh. We hope to gather enough voices to help move the needle towards positive and equitable change.
