412 Build

In a collaborative effort between AlphaLab Gear, TechShop, City of Play and GTECH Strategies the InnovationWorks/412Build program came to fruition. The program recruited youth passionate about entrepreneurship, creativity and a willingness to learn and implement community development and engagement.

The youth participated actively in a community development project that involves the skills learned in entrepreneurship and maker classes.

The 412Build program featured two 5-week summer camp sessions impacting 24 students (ages 16-19) from underserved Pittsburgh neighborhoods, with a focus on neighborhoods in close proximity to partner organizations. In each session, the youth worked towards designing and implementing a community-focused project.
