Rhonda Sears ReEnergize Pittsburgh Ambassador “I want to educate my neighborhood on the importance of conserving energy. I want to help them find ways to improve the quality of life in their homes.” About Me. My name is Rhonda Sears. I have lived in Homewood for 35 years and I love to do whatever I can to help my community improve. I have two daughters and a son and two granddaughters. Some of my proudest moments include watching both my daughters go off to college and watching my son score goals in soccer. I am very involved in gardening and am currently the co-chair of the Penn State Edible Teaching Garden. I also take care of the Community Garden on Mulford & Hale Streets in Homewood. For the future, I envision Homewood as more unified, educated, and bustling community. Why do you think it is important to help your neighbors save energy? “I want to educate my neighborhood on the importance of conserving energy. I want to help them find ways to improve the quality of life in their homes. The program is unique and the ambassadors are assigned to talk with people they may not know in their community.” Why did you apply to be a ReEnergize Ambassador? I enjoy meeting new people, and being able to help. What does community mean to you? Pride – you have to be proud of where you live and where you gained many of your life’s experiences.
