GTECH has partnered with LocalData for the last 2 years to provide access to the data collection system for communities interested in real-time data for community planning. In 2014, GTECH formed the Pittsburgh LocalData Collaborative around this tool as a way to encourage the use of collection standards while sharing lessons learned and technological and process efficiencies.

In 2012, LocalData began as a Code for America project with the City of Detroit’s Office of the Mayor. LocalData is a cloud-based mapping platform that helps cities and communities make data-driven decisions by capturing and visualizing street-level information in real time. Public sector and non-profit professionals use LocalData to quickly collect and map street-level qualitative and quantitative data. Design custom map-based surveys, manage data online and instantly visualize geospatial data without a data expert.
