Doug Deckert ReClaim Northside Ambassador “I applied to be a ReClaim Ambassador to meet new people within our cohort and to stretch myself to reach out and meet my neighbors on my block. I love to make a difference in the beauty of my immediate environment.” About Me I moved to Observatory Hill in 2007 to be near my son, Wyatt. I have been a board member with Observatory Hill Inc. for almost a year now and am dedicated to beautifying the neighborhood. I enjoy fitness and the outdoors. I frequent Riverview Park early in the morning and later in the day with Wyatt. What excites you most about being involved in the ReClaim Northside program? Creating a life of connectedness for myself and my son where I live. What would you like others to know about your neighborhood? Before the construction of I-279 in the late 80s, the hillsides and land west of I-279, between Observatory Hill and North Ave, used to be part of active communities. There are still remnants of roads and house foundations and it makes for an interesting urban hike.
