David is a Distinguished Service Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where he teaches courses in organizational behavior, leadership, and strategy. Prior to his role as professor, David spent more than 25 years in private industry, working mostly in operations and engineering management in a variety of industries that included automotive, computer test equipment, high-end custom furniture, food processing, steel fabrication, glass giftware/collectibles, electric drive transmissions and promotional products. David was drawn to the board because of the mission. David believes small-scale, grassroots efforts like Grounded’s can have a large impact on the quality of life for all residents.

In addition to serving on the board, David is a member of the board of directors of Steeltown Entertainment Project, Jewish Family and Children’s Services, and Sustainable Pittsburgh. He is also a man of many talents – he is an avid cyclist and an ice hockey player. He also loves to travel.
