Nathan Porter Email LinkedIn Marketing & Communications Manager (shared) For 12 years Nathan served in many diverse roles in the United States Air Force – from flying as an Airborne Systems Engineer aboard the RC-135 Rivet Joint, to 7 years in Aircraft Metals Technology, before finishing his career as a Boom Operator aboard the KC-135 Stratotanker. During this time, he earned three Associate of Applied Science degrees in Aviation Operations, Metals Technology, and Air & Space Operations Technology. Growing up in the Allegheny National Forest, Nathan has always had a love for the outdoors and an interest in making sure our Earth and its people thrive. He has spent the past 10 years volunteering, leading, and working for nonprofits centered around equity, inclusion, social justice, environmental justice, and climate change. Currently, he is a Pittsburgh Chapter Lead for Minority Veterans of America where he has had the opportunity to connect the minority veteran community of Pittsburgh to needed resources, as well as speak to and write a testimony to the United States Congress. Throughout both his volunteer and professional career, he has served as a trained instructor, supervisor, leader, mentor, and activist in various settings. As he looked at transitioning out of the Air Force, he aimed to pivot into something he was passionate about – something that he really loved. Eventually, he arrived at his current position, and is shared between Grounded Strategies and Landforce Pgh. He is excited to put his life experience to work doing something meaningful for our earth, our city, and its communities. In his free time, Nathan is also an artist and enjoys welding, metal sculpture, and pottery to name a few. He has three dogs, and two goats which bring him joy and laughs every day.
